BiCAT® 8840

BiCAT ® 8840 is a Bismuth Carboxylate Mixture. It is a liquid ranging in color from yellow to amber, containing 9.5 – 10.5% Bismuth. Shepherd developed the first and only bismuth carboxylates that are truly stable in water.

BiCAT ® 8840 is used as a polyurethane catalyst and is a suitable replacement in adhesive formulations. Bismuth polyurethane catalysts are utilized as non-toxic selective urethane gelling compounds. BiCAT® 8840 is more selective than other catalysts and provides better mechanical properties than other catalysts. The best choice where hydrolitic stability is required.
