Polyurethane Catalysts with High Reactivity and Extended Shelf Life To Be Featured at 2017 CPI Conference

Shepherd Chemical Company Wins 2016 Polyurethane Innovation Award

The Shepherd Chemical Company’s Research & Development team is excited to share that we will be traveling to New Orleans, LA for the The Center for the Polyurethanes Industry’s annual Polyurethanes Technical Conference, the longest-running polyurethanes conference in North America. Nate Eckert, our technical manager for Shepherd Carboxylates and Organics, will

This year, our research team will present extended studies of the stability and performance of BiCAT 8840 and 8842 catalysts in polyurethane spray foam formulations–showing how our bismuth catalysts work well in HFO systems and are stable over long periods, up to 12 months in certain formulations. Our team will also share intriguing Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) data comparing the reaction kinetics of our bismuth catalysts with industry-standard catalysts, including other bismuth carboxylates, stannous octoate, zinc neodecanoate and organomercury. He will show, for the first time, molecular-level data that reveals how different mercury is from other metal catalysts.

Nate will present on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in Galerie 2 as part of the Spray Polyurethane Foam technical session. The session begins at 8:00am and Nate is scheduled to speak at 10:30am. Engage with Nate and the team by scheduling a meeting at cpi.shepchem.com.

We at Shepherd Chemical are proud to have invented safer, more energy-efficient catalysts to propel our industry toward a brighter tomorrow. We look forward to seeing you in New Orleans!
