Shepherd Chemical manufactures neodymium 2-ethylhexanoate.
Neodymium octoate is manufactured as a viscous liquid with a Nd concentration of 12 wt%. Neodymium octoate is typically used as a catalyst or promoter in the ink drying process (ink drier). Neodymium octoate can also be used a polyurethane catalyst. One of the major uses for neodymium carboxylates, especially neodymium neodecanoate (aka neodymium versatate), is in the polymerization of dienes for the manufacture of synthetic rubber. Neodymium carboxylates could also be used in the preparation of high-purity neodymium oxide nanoparticles.
