Shepherd Chemical produces multiple grades of nickel nitrate solution and nickel nitrate crystals. Available in 13% Ni, 14% Ni, and 15%, our nickel nitrate solutions are moderately to highly concentrated liquids that range in color from a light bright green to a brilliant Kelly-green.
Applications for nickel nitrate solutions are predominately precursors for hydrogenation catalysts. Other applications for nickel nitrate span a wide variety of products and categories related to metal finishing and the manufacturing of wires, coins, household fixtures and accessories, and military equipment. Used also in surface preparation prior to coatings nickel nitrate helps prevent corrosion beneath paint and other coatings for cars, home appliances and circuit-boards. Various battery technologies also rely on inorganic forms of nickel for their cathode materials.
On the organic side, Nickel Octoate is a high-grade liquid catalyst used in the manufacture of Synthetic Butyl Rubber (SBR). It efficiently synthesizes synthetic rubbers for auto, pharma, building materials and other industrial applications.
