Polyurethanes

BiCAT® is Shepherd’s proprietary trade name for our polyurethane catalysts. BiCATs® are used as curatives and cross-linkers for many polyurethane applications from shoe soles, to car interiors, to adhesives, to spray foam insulation.

We developed the first bismuth carboxylates that are truly stable in water.  Our BiCAT® products offer safer alternatives to more toxic lead and mercury compounds. Patent-pending BiCATs® 8840 and 8842 exhibit hydrolytical stability and seamless compatibility with HFO blowing agents, fast cure rates, stable foam structures, reduced VOCs, and impressive shelf lives extending up to 15 months.

Our hydrolytically stable BiCATs® earned us the 2016 CPI (The Center for the Polyurethanes Industry) Polyurethane Innovation Award.
