GREASING THE WHEELS OF INNOVATION
Lubricant Additives
meet the needs of today’s new challenges
Lubricant Additives
Growing demands of today’s lubricant market for greater power and efficiency, environmental health, and emerging high tech applications present new challenges for anti-wear, extreme pressure, corrosion resistance, and sludge control additives. Meeting these demands and overcoming such challenges requires new metal chemistries.
Over 90% of our metal-based lubricant additives are custom co-developed and manufactured exclusively for our lubricant industry partners. Our
strengths in bismuth, molybdenum, zinc, iron, manganese and titanium metals and chemistries result in products designed for advanced EP (extreme pressure) and AW (anti-wear) performance and corrosion resistance. Our research also shows that synergistic mixtures of bismuth carboxylates and sulfur compounds forming bismuth sulfide are excellent extreme pressure additives. These molecules also show compatibility with the growing number of sustainable and natural base stocks.
About BiLUBE® 8109
Bismuth carboxylates are readily soluble in hydrocarbon solvents, including many lubricant base oils (e.g. Group II/III, PAO). Bismuth carboxylates are also effective extreme-pressure (EP) lubricant additives in greases and oils, providing improved lubricity and anti-wear benefits in moving metal parts (e.g. pistons, gears).
