Shepherd has been manufacturing rubber adhesion promoters since the 1970’s invention of steel belted radial tires. As one of the original manufacturers with a proven history of quality and reliability, we remain a trusted supplier to 17 of the top 20 radial tire companies globally. Our cobalt carboxylates increase the crosslink density of rubber, add crystalline strength and structure to the copper sulfide layer and suppress dezincification. Shepherd offers pre-weighed bags (in specified dosed weights) with a low melt temperature, making them easy to add directly into the mixer for process efficiency with no clean-up. Common cobalt ligands include stearates and neodecanoates. Development of new cobalt-free chemistries has expanded the options available while maintaining the dependable and high quality performance we’re known for.
