Through Shepherd participation and leadership in the American Chemistry Council, it has been actively engaged in the industry's most recent initiative aimed at achieving high performance levels in the following areas:

Shepherd Chemical achieved Responsible Care Management Systems Certification in 2006 through the audit process conducted by BSI Managements Systems, a global leader in standards and auditing programs. Shepherd Chemical is audited by an external party annually on the RCMS codes. We also conduct internal audits several times per year to insure our programs and systems are operating in accordance with the standard.

Shepherd collects numerous metrics relating to its performance in these areas and submits these performance metrics to the American Chemistry Council in order to participate in our industries performance scorecard to the public.

- Safety Performance During Transport
- Energy Utilization
